10. What if I already have some insulation in my attic?
Having existing insulation does not automatically disqualify you – it depends on the R-value. If your current attic insulation is at R-24 or below, you still qualify for the attic rebate when you upgrade to R-60 or higher.
Many Denver homes built before the 1990s have R-11 to R-19 in the attic – well below the R-24 cutoff. Even homes with a few inches of blown-in insulation from a previous owner may still qualify.
